An antique Persian Afshar rug. The ivory angular tendril and flowerhead main border appears on many Persian rustic rugs, from Bidjar in Kurdistan to the Afshars in the southeast. The field pattern, on a navy ground, of sawtooth bent leaves and red triangles, has been adapted from Fars tribal weaving to the west. This is an authentic antique nomadic woven artifact in good condition.
