An antique Persian Bidjar carpet. The field abrashes rom dove grey to slate and displays a five-column Harshang palmette allover design featuring ragged palmettes, large rosettes, five posy arrays and tilted ogival motives. The main ivory border features attenuated turtle elements and the two brick minors are almost as broad with double lancet leaf brackets. The weave is solid and the rug has essentially eternal wearability.
