An antique Persian Kurdish runner. The finely abrashed light slate ground supports a decidedly rustic version of the Herat pattern. The open lozenges have been crushed sideways, the rosettes have overtaken all other design elements and the ‘fish’ leaves behave most erratically. There are two identically patterned octagon borders in pale grey and medium brown on this west Persian rustic Kurdistan wide runner or narrow gallery carpet.
