Dark slate/charcoal flowers pop up from the allover floriated scrolling pattern on the rust field and light blue-grey border of this NE Persian Khorassan city carpet. Mashad weavers have made complex floral vinery scrolls a specialty and this carpet shows off their skills in a subtle, but rigorous example.
