A wool pile with symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. This large Kurdish town carpet, originating from the provincial capital of Sanandaj, features a medium blue field with nine columns of paired botehs alternating with palmette-flowers in a square layout. The light blue border repeats the field design, while the ecru minor stripe is adorned with rosettes pinning floral sprays. The outermost band displays acanthus wrapping in a picture frame style. Unusually large for a Senneh piece, it highlights a boteh variant, which is particularly popular in the region.
