A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. This “currency rug” depicts a note with a portrait of Shah Reza Pahlavi in ceremonial garb at the right, serial numbers scattered around, and a blank piecrust rondel to the left. Can’t spend it, just admire it. Finely woven.
