A vintage Afghan War Pictorial rug. Really a small carpet, all of Asia lies at your feet, annotated in Farsi in nastaliq calligraphy and drawn in a schematic, angular style. The wide lower border depicts numerous foreign flags. The weave is moderately fine and it is clearly of urban rather than rural origin. Royal blue is the predominant color.
