A vintage Persian Mahal Square rug. The black field, popular as an alternative to navy in the postwar period in Persia, displays nine color rows of quartered botehs all facing right in tones of rust, teal, medium blue, rose and sand. The sienna brown main border presents an unusual rose pattern. A neat and well thought-out rustic small square rug.
