A Vintage Wool Pile, Symmetric Knots on a Cotton Foundation. The coral red field of this village mat features a variety of large and small floral motifs, surrounded by multiple borders, including a red "tangerine flower" section and an ivory band with palmettes and right-angle leaf motifs. An experienced weaver can craft an appealing, cohesive rug from what are essentially the components of a sampler. In a single sampler, many rugs are imagined.
