A wool pile with symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The doubly stepped hexagonal abrashed slate field features amusing triple-eyed, vaguely cat-like palmettes, along with stiff, bent 'fish' leaves. Straw triangular spandrels with similar three-eyed palmettes add to the design. The ecru border showcases a broadly trapezoidal meander, punctuated by rosettes. Rust secondary borders flank the piece as minor borders.
