A vintage Persian Malayer carpet. Grey tones and a Caucasian geometric design of a triple lozenge pole medallion make this village rug something special. The fringed diamonds are made up as mosaics of a tiny triangle and this micro-tessellation continue with the field corners. The ivory field sets everything off. The rosettes in the main border float freely. This is definitely a rug with a modern color sensibility, but strictly abstract with attention to rigorous geometry.
