Vintage Persian Tabriz Carpet

A Wool pile of symmetric knots on an all-cotton foundation. The ecru field features a traditional Herati pattern, but with a larger, implicit diamond lattice formed by the rosettes. The paired tertiary stripes are particularly prominent, their dark frames almost overpowering the larger patterns. The border, in a rust strip style, showcases reversing turtle palmettes. The weave is medium, uniform, and regular, with a short, brisk pile typical of the style. This piece is a near match to our 27841. Good condition. Persian size.
