A wool pile with symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The ruins of Persepolis are depicted within a stepped, elongated lozenge cartouche on a dark red ground, with a Persian flag flying above the site. Large vases are positioned in the corners of the field, complemented by pale blue arabesques. The border features fluted and banded lateral columns, with rows of armed retainers above and below, all surrounding a sacred flame.
