Vintage Portuguese Savonnerie Pictorial Accent Rug

A wool pile with symmetric knots and a cotton weft. The design evokes a night in the jungle, featuring a big cat, a zebra, and a bovine peering out from dense foliage, complemented by a small monkey and a diminutive rabbit. The flowers, both real and fantastical, are in full bloom, showcasing a wide range of vibrant colors. The stems are often tied neatly with bows. A very dark brown ground forms a ‘border’ near the edges. Ideal for the floor or, better yet, displayed on the wall. In good condition, with at least twenty distinct shades.
