An antique American Hook Rug. This is a hooked armorial rug with an ivory field displaying a winged and helmed coat of arms above the Latin banderole “Deus Pascit Cornutos” (“God … Horns”). Beneath are four additional smaller shields of arms indicating the ancestry of the bearer.
