An antique East Turkestan Khotan carpet. The coral-brown field is centered by a “moon” straw disc medallion which is vertically flanked by open ivory “V” shapes with open, polygonal bases. Flowers and guls are scattered about. The bold fret corners, diminutive T-fret inner border, and the delicately rendered Yun-Tsao Tou main band display the rug’s Chinese character.
