A wool pile of symmetric knots on a wool and cotton foundation. This striking Kurdish town carpet shows a red geometric, forked arabesque ”Garrus” design on a lighter grey-blue-slate ground. Palmettes and branching floret stems fill in some of the defined reserves. Usually the Garrus design is on dark blue, but this one feels more spacious. Ecru main border with straw bows and palmettes, and red escutcheon palmettes and tortured leaves. Solid and very robust construction.
