This carpet features a wool pile of symmetric knots on a wool foundation. The brownish-red field displays an intriguing pattern of offset partial, open cartouches formed by ragged arabesque forked leaves. Rosettes give rise to pairs of green, ragged leaves. While vaguely related to the 'Garrus' arabesque pattern, this design is decidedly much rarer. In the red main border, swimming turtles alternate with solidly placed turtles and green stepped, torn leaves. The carpet is solid, compact, and built for a long life expectancy.
