An antique Persian Bidjar rug. The Herati design is popular throughout Persia and here is a Bidjar Kurdish village version on a camel ground with details delineated primarily in light blue. A narrow tomato red madder border alternates rosettes and flowerless sprouts. The texture is firm and solid, an extremely long wearing.
