A wool pile with symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. This completely engaging ruglet features a charcoal field with an asymmetric array of closely spaced characters: two lumpy, saddled horses; a portly human figure wielding an axe; a duck in profile; two other birds; a sun face; and various leaves and split arabesques filling in the spaces. The color details include medium blue, teal, rose, putty, soft red, and off-white. The rug is framed by an azure border with rosettes and wide white cotton flatwoven end strips.
