A Wool pile with asymmetric knots on an all-cotton foundation. Loosely and boldly designed on a straw ground, this village carpet features a central row of shield palmettes, with semi-geometric secondary and tertiary rosettes, mostly in emphatic charcoal. The pattern shifts toward one end, giving it a mobile character. There are six pointed open cypress shapes, defined by leafy arabesques and enclosing six-posy flowers. The main near-black strip-style border reveals reversing Mahal-style turtles. A plain light outer strip transitions to the floor.
