An antique Persian Mahal rug. The ivory field is organized around three columns of teal rosettes and palmettes with subsidiary open lozenges and diagonal motives. Tiny dots float in the interstices. This is one of the better Mahal carpets of the pre-WWI period during which allover designs were particularly popular.
