An antique Persian Malayer carpet. The beige to pearl to the charcoal field is striated and abrashed, and supports a small scale, allover Herati Pattern, within an almost equally variegated narrow brick main border with turtle palmettes. This squarish west Persian village carpet is structurally close to Malayer work, but design-wise is more Mahal in style.
