The blue-grey, light field shows a close adaptation of the Avshan design as found on contemporaneous Caucasian rugs, but not in this extended gallery format. The pattern presents rosettes and forked “goosenecks”. Salmon main strip style border with alternation of small stars, and larger, fluid ashiks, all caught up in a double stiff vinery. Long carpets such as this are a Malayer specialty.
