A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The red field, with small botehs in reversing rows, fits snugly into multi-striped triangular corners that repeat the striped chevron sides of the peculiar medallion in the lower center. A dark blue panel featuring a lion brandishing a scimitar adds a pictorial element. The main ecru border consists of alternating hexagons and stars, with matching reversing fan-palmette minor borders. Malayer weave and origin.
