A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The light grey field presents a central axis of ragged palmettes alternating with open lozenges flanked by torn oak leaves, and important secondary columns of oval, nested palmettes. The design slips somewhat toward one end. The rust strip style border features fat floriated X shapes sickle leaves. Good lateral balance. Uncommon large, bespoke size. As with the best Sultanabads, the designs of both field and border seem to be unique.
