An antique Persian Tabriz carpet. Not the Herati pattern, though it does have “fish” leaves and not the “Vase carpet” design even though it possesses diagonal palmettes, this town carpet has a thin lozenge lattice rigorously organizing the motives on the charcoal ground. The layout is bilaterally symmetric with flower vases in the field corners.
