An antique Persian Tabriz carpet. A central axis featuring palmettes and open cartouches with differing floral motives organizes the light brown field with its giant, slate grey forked arabesques. These arabesques define reserves with further leaf, flower, and stem patterns, much in the Kerman style. The maroon border shows angular palmettes and double geometric forked arabesques. The field is more flowing, the border more solid.
