An antique Persian Tabriz Hagi Jalili rug. The ‘Hajji Jalili’ period in Tabriz, 1890 to 1900, produced many of the most desirable and elegant rugs and carpets from that town in the Modern Era. A good example is this ruglet with an open sandy ivory field centered by a slightly stepped pendanted lozenge medallion and extended corners decorated with openwork flasks. The pale celadon border presents outlined palmettes and vines.
