A vintage Central Asia Bokhara Door Surround. This is a surround made to go above a door in the traditional Turkmen felt tent or yurt. The pattern is a stylization of the curled leaf pattern seen on earlier door surrounds (kapunnuks). The long side fringes are original. It was woven by the Ersari tribe in northern Afghanistan.
