Vintage Persian Bakhtiari Room Size Carpet

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The chocolate field strikingly displays an ascending, unidirectional design of large, geometric palmettes in the Heriz manner, all accented in rich red, teal, straw and ecru. Red border ih upright flowers and halved quatrefoil medallions. Saturated palette. Excellent village work from the famed Chahar Mahal area.
