A vintage East Turkestan Khotan rug. Floral rosette diagonals ornament the rose-brown ground of this Eastern Turkestan long rug. The double volutes around small lozenges is a Khotan border mainstay and so is the minor stripe with its prominent “Y” shapes. Khotan rugs are village or town creations with a hint of the Far Eastern.
