A vintage Persian Hamadan Pictorial rug. The old ivory ground displays rows of figures including scorpions, ticks (!), rustic women and men, tritons, goats, lions, cows, rabbits, archers, scales of justice, sheep, fish, sailboats and lollipop trees. The figures seem to be taken from a Western source. The whole effect is charming and naively unique. The date and inscription are not legible.
