A vitnage Persian Heriz carpet. A nested navy octofoil central medallion and palmette penants is set on the madder red subfield with a surrounding décor of stylized palmettes, leaves and florets. This décor is repeated the ivory field corners. The navy main border is adorned with serrated leaves, irregular rosettes and small flowers and dots. The left border is slightly narrower than the right, indicating true rustic production.
