An antique Persian Serapi carpet. A huge eight-point medallion with enormous dark red palmette pendants dominates the straw field and is supported by various semi-geometric floral devices. Light blue and rose triangular corners locate the entire composition and a broad light red thin two-way turtle main border acts as an effective frame. Virtually all the natural colors are pitched in the same key, assuring a generally harmonious effect in this outstanding carpet.
