A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation. A visual pair to rug # 21236. The central Persian weaving town of Joshegan employs almost exclusively a pattern of lozenge-shaped flower arrays with matching corners and a small stepped and layered central medallion. On our example, the field is a light straw, the corners are powder blue-grey and the dark brown border, displaying another iconic Joshegan pattern, has palmettes and oblique cartouches.
