Vintage Persian Kashan Pictorial Rug

A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation. Dated 1323= 1945 approx. This short warp mat depicts an urban scene of a brick-built house, a smaller dwelling, trees with nesting birds, two dogs, and a pond with fishes in the foreground. A wandering stream leads to a tribal tent in one corner. In addition, there are five smaller pavilions, a tiled garden and foreground and what seems to be a boat in the pond. Powder border with split leaves and palmettes.
