A vintage Persian Kerman Pictorial rug. He ivory ground of this urban pictorial scatter shows two scenes from the Romance of Laila and Majnun: in the top section, Laila visits her love-crazed counterpart Majnun, while in the lower she holds what seems to be his deceased and rigid body. A lion, birds, a shepherd, a deer, and fish along with cypresses, a palm tree, and various flowers add to the country character of the scene. The brown border displays cartouches of birds or animals.
