A vintage Persian Malayer carpet. The striated abrashed brownish charcoal field supports a concise Herati pattern dimensionally identical to that in the vertically offset beige lozenge medallion. Big ‘fish’ lancet leaves and simplified open turtle palmettes decorate the main border of this west Persian village kellegi carpet.
