A vintage Persian Malayer rug. No, it’s not your eyes! The light shadow pattern really is substantially offset toward one side with a column of rayed lozenges and hexagons with four large leaves set about its central element. Dark umber spot accents appear both in the field motives and in the border of this buff-field, generally subdued west Persian village scatter. The vine in the side borders is particularly extended.
