A vintage Persian Malayer runner. The standard Herati design has been reduced to a chain of rayed lozenges, floating rosettes and quadruples of ‘fish’ leaves, all on the graphite ground of this wet Persian village short kenare (runner). The iconic straw pyramidal ragged palmette and split leaf meander border frame the whole.
