A wool pile with symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The pearl grey field features a variant of the Herati design, unique to Malayer rugs, with open and fringed diamonds in the center pole medallion style and strongly bent leaves closer to the edges. The strip-style border displays cream palmettes. Both the field and border are iconic to Malayer rugs, which come in various formats. Moderate weave, in good condition.
