A vintage Persian Mashad runner. Look closely and you can see that this pair to rug # 24006 has a few idiosyncrasies of its own. The straw main border is wider with flattened rosettes on one side and narrower with round rosettes along the other. The plain outermost strip is also similarly asymmetric. Since this is fine weave, city workshop rug, following a knot-for-knot cartoon, these anomalies are odd. But even the most urban pieces can subtly surprise you. A mid-century rug for any room.
