A wool Pile in Symmetric Knots on a Wool Foundation. This is an iconographically cohesive group, though the exact origins of individual pieces are open to debate. Some are woven on cotton warps, while others are on wool; some are long and narrow, others small; some feature symmetric knots, while others are asymmetric. Some pieces depict only the women, while others include a rider above. At times, the central figure appears seated, while in other instances, it is simply a little girl. The field is navy, with an orange-red border adorned with palmettes. The vase and palmette at the bottom of the field are unusual.
