A wool pile of symmetric knots on a wool foundation. The tall women, dressed in rose, flank a smaller girl in black, all standing at attention as a noble figure on horseback gallops above. The ecru field is scattered with chevrons. The condition suggests this piece may be older than most others in the group. The coral border features leaves, color samplers, and ashiks. While the source has been suggested as Nizami’s Khusraw and Shirin, the connection remains tenuous at best. The design is more refined than most examples in this group.
