A wool Pile of Symmetric Knots on a Wool Foundation. An unusual take on what is already a highly intricate imagery. In this piece, the charcoal field features a female rider on a roan horse moving to the right, with stylized trees in the background. The main cream border displays floating palmettes within an octagonal tracery, sometimes broken, borrowed from more refined urban rugs. The outer minor salmon border is decorated with small squares, and the narrow end panels (elems) feature chevrons and dashes. The piece is in good condition.
