A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. Qazvin is an American trade name for the city carpets of Hamadan, beginning about 1908, and initiated by O.C.M. (Oriental Carpet Manufacturers). Moderately fine and clearly robust, this navy ground piece shows a four way pattern of botehs, swirling flowers, leaves and stems, all supporting a red lozenge medallion with an ecru central sub-medallion. Matching red and ecru quarter corner pieces. Sandy straw main border with reversing rosettes and palmettes. High quality tribal wool pile.
