A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. Not spendable! The 1000 tomans denomination bill of Pre-Revolution Iran is faithfully depicted on this very finely woven, short warp, city ruglet. The last Shah, in middle age in ceremonial garb, is depicted in bust length to the right, while the pale blue ground features an Achaemenian-style winged bull. At the left is a blank white roundel for the treasurer’s signature. Denomination at upper left.
