Vintage Turkish Anatolian Tribal Square Room Size Carpet

This piece features a wool pile of symmetric knots on a wool foundation. The abrashed medium brown field displays two large, nearly identical stepped medallions in near-black: the upper medallion features stars and a central lozenge, while the lower one contains an octagonal Memling gul. Six additional Memling guls float within the otherwise nearly plain field. A narrow near-black border with small octagons frames the design, and the rug is finished with elaborate wool macramé end treatments.
