A recent addition to the rug type corpus, these NW Persia multipaneled covers are constructed from sections of a long weft-faced strip, cut and edge joined to make the proper size. Here a three-panel carpet is created from asynchronous sections in subtly variegated chocolate, taupe, tan, beige, and sand. The weaver went with whatever undyed yarns came to hand and there was no attempt to regularize or symmetrize the original long and narrow strip. Versatile as a cover or floor carpet. God condition.
